Weft Ikat
Ikat fabrics come from a small town called Pochampally close to Hyderabad in the southern region of India. It is a handloom hub surrounded by lush verdant green hills. Ikat is an ancient technique that crates patterns on yarn through the laborious process of resisting segments of the yarn through tying. These carefully calculated, tied yarns are then dyed to create patterns.
